Michael Makris graduated in the top sixteen percent of his class from South Texas College of Law in 1995.  

During Law School, he worked as an intern in the Special Crimes Division of the Harris County District Attorney's Office. Immediately after being licensed as an attorney by the Supreme Court of Texas, Mr. Makris was sworn in as an Assistant District Attorney by former District Attorney Johnny Holmes, Jr. in 1995. He spent the following four years serving as a Harris County Prosecutor in the Trial Division, fighting for the rights of Texans. Mr. Makris has continued serving citizens in private practice since 2000.
